Taylor Bird, Yoga Instructor
Taylor has lived in Logan her entire life. She has 5 other siblings. She also has four dogs that she absolutely adores.
She started with Avalon Hills in November of 2013 as a direct care staff and worked in that position for 3 years. In September of 2016 she was offered the position as the Yoga Specialist.
Before starting with Avalon, she worked as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) doing in-home health and hospice. During that time she was fortunate enough to meet and care for some amazing people and form connections with them for the two years that she worked in Senior Care.
During November 2016 through December 2016 she travelled to Baja Mexico for 26 days to study and complete her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
Professionally she is passionate about Avalon’s “Treat to Outcome” philosophy and loves seeing our clients become ready to take on recovery. She has a particular skill at de-escalating a client in an escalated situation.
What most excites her about her work and the contribution she can make is the opportunity to help girls and women through their treatment and helping them get back into and become aware of their bodies. She loves watching their progress as they come alive again.
She is passionate about yoga and asana practice. Yoga has helped her reconnect with herself and to find her truest self. It has helped her to open up and live again.
She has a particular passion about all animals, and respects them like they are human beings, because they are living and breathing and deserve love and respect.
When she is not at work, you can find her in the Mountains. She is passionate about the outdoors, loves hiking, trail running, bouldering, cycling, skiing and basically anything that gets her breathing fresh air and out in nature.
